Surface representation of movement
A round ottoman as a drop of water, where surface tension lines are transformed into a network of strips of leather. As for some optical works of the ’50s, Nendo studied perceptual processes underlying the movement, translating them into an arrangement of lines and geometric shapes arranged in a precise mathematical approach. The optical effect, emphasized by reports of extension and the use of black and white in its simplicity allows multiple reading of the object, at the same time structural and surface.
