The importance of blending design, craftsmanship, and the decorative arts
A chair that is both functional and decorative, which feels artisan-made but has a contemporary look. Klara has a frame straight from experimental design with an extremely precise form, where the armrests, freed from the backrest, are structurally independent. The project is a reinterpretation of the spirit of the first forays into industrial design, based on a close collaboration between art, industry, and craft. Stylishly comfortable, it is reminiscent of the first mass-produced pieces of the early 20th century, also in its use of woven Vienna straw, a craft technique commonly used in the Friuli region of Italy a century ago.
Frame is beech or oak. Seat and back covered with polyurethane flame-retardant foam on bent plywood.
Klara collection is available in four different versions:
– with Vienna cane back.
– with fabric or leather back.
– with button-tufted, upholstered back.
- with back in natural cane.
