Press - Rietveld Armchair
Design: Gerrit Rietveld
In 1958, Gerrit Rietveld designed the Press Room Chair for the UNESCO building in Paris, envisioning it as a comfortable lounge seat for journalists at the pressroom’s reading table. Due to budgetary and time constraints, the chair was never produced, and Rietveld instead used furniture from the Brussels World Exhibition held earlier that year. Fortunately, the original plans, sketches, and models were preserved, enabling the Press Room Chair to be brought to life and released in 2014.
